Redefining “Business-as-Usual” – Launching Gunboat 6803
View the first sailing footage of Gunboat 68 SeaTilt and hear the story behind her launch!
Gunboat 6803 SeaTilt was in her final months of construction in La Grande-Motte when France went on lockdown March 14th. Remarkably, the launch took place only a few weeks off schedule! By then, "survival mode" gave way to the new normal and we were able to reflect on our experience within this highly unusual event in history.
The Gunboat 68 takes 18 months to build and each yacht represents tens of thousands of hours of craftsmanship and teamwork. Launch time is emotional even without the additional challenges and fears brought on by a global pandemic. The team effectively founds ways to persevere and support each other, integrating new procedures into daily life with the same ardor they bring to high-tech boatbuilding.
We'd be remiss not to share the context of this time period, and how proud we are of this team and their collective passion for the yachts that we build.
