Interior
The idea was to have comfortable, high-end interiors, but with a spirit of freshness and lightness.”

Flybridge
You can have your cake and eat it too! Crowds came in droves to see the first catamaran with Gunboat performance and a flybridge. The Gunboat 72 is configured for streamlined, shorthanded performance sailing from a single or dual helm stations on the flybridge (owner selected), with streamlined sail controls and cruising-optimized sail plans. Sailors and non-sailors alike were thrilled with the generous flybridge lounge area and views for miles.
“At Gunboat, our aim is essentially to reconcile the irreconcilable. […] On the insistence of clients, we analyzed the potential with the architects, and the good surprise was that we could effectively deliver Gunboat performance with a flybridge, and the result is the Gunboat 72.”
Benoit Lebizay — Gunboat Managing Partner
Featuring the Gunboat performance design and build quality you loved on the 68, the first Gunboat 72 has exceeded expectations. We’re sailing as fast as the wind from 5 or 6 knots true!
“Hull design comes from the Gunboat 68, so they’re thin and all carbon to be strong and lightweight. And as with the other Gunboat series we have straight, symmetric, lifting daggerboards for great upwind performance as well.”
Xavier Guilbaud — VPLP Design
In construction we employ high-tech, ultra-lightweight materials that are strong and robust for their purpose throughout the exterior and interior. Gunboat together with VPLP determine where to save and spend weight to achieve a spacious and fully equipped catamaran with impressive performance.
